All knotted up and totally inspired

With Spring right around the corner I can't help but think of plants and flowers inside and out of my house.  I have been inspired to make ceramics hanging planters for the succulents and many other plants I plant to grow this Spring.   I've spent the week forming and carving new pots that will hang in my own macrame weavings this Spring. (I'll share photos as soon as I pull them from the kiln next week)  But in the meantime you can use anything to make your own creation.  I have included some pictures below.  I especially love the colorful metal candle holder tins.  What a great way to recycle!

I found this wonderful post on Pinterest from the Free People blog on how to make your own macrame hangers for planters.  There are many DIY's but I just had to share this one.
Check it out!  Easy and fun.

D.I.Y. Macrame Plant Hanger

Source: 2 Mini String DIYs http://blog.freepeople.com/2014/08/2-mini-string-diys/#ixzz3UEBTsZOf

Start with 4-6 pieces of string that are about 2.5 times the length of your desired finished product. Fold them in half and create a knot near the top, forming a loop – this will be your hanger.

Take two adjacent pieces of string and tie them into a knot.  Repeat with each piece of string.  Then, do this again just a bit below, using one string from each pair to form a new pair.

Continue this using varied spacing between levels until you reach the
bottom. Then, tie all of the string into one strong, single knot.
Now you are ready to insert your pot, jar, ceramics... Whatever you have chosen to hang with your newly planted plant.  Enjoy!
